Julie’s Addition and First Floor Remodel

Overview

The goal of the project was to create more space for a gourmet kitchen and a home office by adding a two-story addition and reconfiguring the existing layout. This involved removing interior walls and installing structural beams to open up the floor plan and enhance the home’s overall flow. Early in the design process, we focused on integrating the new kitchen and office with the existing structure, ensuring a seamless transition between spaces. Given Julie and her husband’s height, we customized the kitchen with taller-than-standard countertops for comfort and functionality. The result is a bright, inviting home featuring a spacious, modern kitchen and office, improved first-floor circulation, and a large new deck for outdoor living and entertaining—an elegant transformation that better meets the needs of Julie’s family.
